Poaching Apples

Add the cinnamon

Boil for another 5 minutes or until the apple pieces begin to get tender

Watch the apples after the first few minutes, depending on size and freshness, they can go soft very quickly – over cooked apple is not the best! You want it to be softened but still have some firmness (if the apple quarters start to break up you have cooked it a little too long – don’t worry, you can still eat it and you will make it better the next time!

To Serve simply remove the Apple from the water using a slotted spoon and divide between heated bowls. You can pour over a dash of the cooking water and serve on its own, or serve with a spoon of your favourite vanilla ice cream.
